“Then the voice which I heard from heaven spoke to me again and said, “Go, take the little book which is open in the hand of the angel who stands on the sea and on the earth.” So I went to the angel and said to him, “Give me the little book.” And he said to me, “Take and eat it; and it will make your stomach bitter, but it will be as sweet as honey in your mouth.” Then I took the little book out of the angel’s hand and ate it, and it was as sweet as honey in my mouth. But when I had eaten it, my stomach became bitter. And he said to me, “You must prophesy again about many peoples, nations, tongues, and kings.“
If we apply God’s Word to our experience, it will effectively change our lives. “For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart” (Hebrews 4: 12). Eating this book is indicates a principle: the importance of God’s Word. when we first except Jesus Christ as our personal savior, we feel so good to be born again. Not knowing that the Scriptures is going to deal with our souls. There is pain in that. Change causes pain. God has plans to change us. We cherish certain sins and become comfortable with them. Now God asks us to deal with them. There is anguish in this. Specially when our spiritual eyes are open, and now we understand we are part of the problem. First, God judges us. Then, having dealt with us, He uses us to carry truth to others. Only after God touches us can we carry the message to someone else. Knowing truth truly and experientially, always leads to action. We cannot use the Bible to minister to others effectively unless the Bible first deals with us. If we can’t bring ourselves to God as a living sacrifice, how can we tell others to sacrifice themselves to God. Before Jesus ask us to bring ourselves as a sacrifice to God, He aloud Himself to be sacrificed to give us life. This principle exist from the beginning, it’s in giving that you received. May the good Lord bless your heart to love others as you love yourself. In Jesus, the Almighty God. Amen.
